Knowing the weight limits, guidelines and by packing accordingly will help ensure smooth and safe travel.

HAND BAGGAGE INFORMATION

To ensure that the cabin overhead compartments are not excessively full and for safety, comfort and convenience of everyone on board, please ensure that you comply with MASwings cabin baggage set of rules and allowances.

E-cigarettes containing batteries

E-cigarettes including e-cigars and other personal vaporizers containing batteries must be removed and safely stowed in carry-on or cabin baggage only. These items MUST not be placed in your checked baggage.

Smoking and recharging of these devices are not permitted onboard an aircraft.

The table below states the maximum weight of the checked baggage that you can take with you free of charge.

Note:

  1. There is no limitation on number of pieces for checked baggage, as long as the total weight is less than the maximum baggage allowance of your cabin class.
  2. Due to the limited cargo space in the aircraft type operated by MW, bulky checked-in item is subject to cargo space available.
EXCESS BAGGAGE CHARGES

Rates for excess baggage will be charged on per kg basis (over and above the permitted free baggage allowance of the cabin class).

Excess baggage charges for live animal or domestic pet

Please be advised that live animal or domestic pet shall not be included in the free baggage allowance but shall constitute excess baggage for which the passenger must pay the applicable charges.

  • If flight sector apply weight system, the charge is based on 1.5% of the highest normal direct adult one-way Economy Class fare (in local currency) for each kilogram.
  • Animal weight plus the cage.
  • In case the weight of live animal and its cage is less than 5 kg, a minimum of 5 kg will be charged.

Guide dogs accompanying sight or hearing impaired passengers, together with containers and food, will be carried free of charge in addition to the free baggage allowance.

BAGGAGE RESTRICTIONS

To comply with Global Health and Safety regulations for baggage handlers, MASwings has imposed a strict ruling to ensure that each single piece of item or baggage that is checked in DOES NOT exceed 32 kg (70 lbs).

Irrespective of class of travel, any single piece of baggage weighing more than 32 kg (70 lbs) will not be accepted at check-in counters at any station. Customers will be required to reduce the weight by repacking the baggage into smaller units before they are allowed to check in. This regulation equally applies to transit baggage.

We recommend that items exceeding 32kg (70lbs) such as bulky musical instruments, sports equipment, or photo and film camera equipment should be sent through MASkargo, our cargo services

VALUE DECLARATIONS

You may declare a value for your checked baggage in excess of the applicable liability limit. If you make such a declaration, you must pay additional charges in accordance with our regulations.

MASwings will not accept liability for valuables, fragile or perishable articles including money, jewelry, cameras, video and electronics equipment, silverware, negotiable instruments, business documents, samples, antiques, paintings, fur, manuscripts or similar items, computers and medication.
