MASwings Presents Free Tickets To Lucky Draw Winners
MASwings Sdn Bhd (MASwings) today presented free tickets to the lucky draw winners of Malaysia Airlines/MASwings’ self-check-in kiosk campaign in a ceremony held at Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA).
Ten lucky draw winners drawn from over 30,000 users of Malaysia Airlines/MASwings were selected as winners of this campaign for the month of July 2010. They were presented with free tickets to any of MASwings’ destinations within Sabah region by MASwings Managing Director, YBhg Dato’ Mohd Salleh Ahmad Tabrani.
Dato’ Mohd Salleh said, MASwings is excited that the campaign has received overwhelming response from passengers of Malaysia Airlines and MASwings in Sabah.
He said, since its introduction in KKIA, the number of self-check-in kiosks users increased significantly from the take-up rate of a mere 20% at the early stage of introduction to an average of 35%-40% per day and at times peaks to 45%.
Malaysia Airlines and MASwings introduced self-check-in kiosk at KKIA on 25th June 2010 which was officiated by Malaysia Airlines’ Managing Director, YM Tengku Datuk Azmil Zahruddin. All the 06 six kiosks at KKIA utilizes the new Airport Connect S3 kiosk system that employs touch-screen technology, has passport and card readers for instant passenger recognition and prints 2D barcode boarding pass on thermal paper. Passengers may check-in as early as 48 hours from the time of departure.
According to Dato’ Mohd Salleh, MASwings is optimistic with the high usage of self check-in kiosk at BKIAP and confident the usage rate to reach 50% by end of the year.
“I am confident the target is achievable given to the increasing number of passengers using the kiosk for the first time and their repeat usage on the next occasion. KKIA handles an estimated 3,000 passengers per day and this means we have to target an average of 1,500 passengers to meet 50% target”.
