MASWINGS GOLF ESCAPADE MONTHLY TOURNAMENT – 31 JANUARY 2010
Miri: A total of 120 golfers participated in MASwings monthly tournament held at Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club today, in support of MASwings Golf Escapade package, which was launched last year.
The monthly tournament organized by MASwings is part of its continuous effort to boost golf as sports tourism in Sarawak and Sabah.
MASwings’ Head of Business Development and Charter, Zamanimaran Abdullah said “The MASwings Golf Escapade package is be able to create luxury golf vacation experience for both local and international golfers by offering lower cost at numerous golf courses in Sabah and Sarawak.”
He added, “The golf course is the best place for corporate people to meet and form business alliances. The Golf Escapade package will create the opportunity for business golfers to travel and play golf at an attractive price within the two states of Borneo”.
The Golf Escapade package offers fares as low as RM599 to RM1299 from Miri to Kota Kinabalu and RM699 from Kota Kinabalu to Miri per person. Customers will enjoy a return flight, hotel accommodation for a two-night stay and two rounds of golf. Excursions and upgrade options are also available. The online facility via MASwings official website made the booking options convenient for golf enthusiast when selecting their preferred courses, destinations and hotels.
MASwings in association with Jubilant Travel, the official handler for MASwings Golf Escapade package had previously organized three tournaments, the first being held in February 2009 in conjunction with the launching of MASwings Golf Escapade tour packages launched by MASwings Managing Director, Dato Mohd Salleh Ahmad Tabrani.
Present at the prize giving ceremony is the Deputy Chief Minister of Sarawak and Minister of Tourism and Heritage, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam.
Champions of the tournament found themselves winning a 3 days 2 night stay inclusive of airfare, golf and accommodation at Karambunai Sabah, return flight on Malaysia Airlines from Kuching to Hong Kong, four return flight tickets on MASwings from Miri to Kota Kinabalu, golf vouchers from Damai Beach Hotel in Kuching and lots of other attractive prizes for grabs.
This program is aim to encourage more golfers to play golf domestically especially within East Malaysia which, is the main traffic for MASwings.
