MASwings Celebrates a Green 1st Anniversary with PERYATIM

MIRI: MASwings today celebrated its 1st anniversary with the children at PERYATIM Miri Centre where the airline donated a landscape area with trees and plants, providing an environmentally green atmosphere for the children.

The ceremony was officiated by YB Tuan Haji Ahmat Lai Bujang at PERYATIM Miri Centre. Also present at the ceremony were Hajjah Juliyanah Abdul Hamid, General Manager PERYATIM and Dr. Amin Khan, Managing Director MASwings.

A variety of flora and plants were donated for the landscaping exercise, including the Red Edged Dracaena, a houseplant which is known to be an effective air-cleaner as it removes harmful gases and airborne chemicals. All the plants donated by MASwings were carefully selected to suit the environment.

The children at the centre were also treated to a fun-filled afternoon of entertainment and refreshments after the ceremony, and lit up with joy when they received goodie bags from MASwings packed with stationery sets and books donated by MASwings employees. The airline earlier rolled out a “ Book Drive”, calling for donation of books from the employees.

“MASwings has always placed top priority on making a difference in the community we serve. Children are our future and we believe in giving the best to the children,” said Dr.Amin.

“We have chosen to “Plant a Tree” at PERYATIM centre as this is in line with our spirit of going green with the environment, preserving the world for our future generation” added Dr.Amin.

In celebration of its 1 st anniversary, MASwings is also running the My MASwingsMoments inviting its customers to send in stories on their experience with MASwings. The Grand Prize winner for this contest will win one complimentary air ticket to any ASEAN destination.
