MASwings Launched Malaysia’s First Prepaid Flight Card - Scratch n’ Go!

Miri: It was a fun and excitement filled day in the Imperial Mall today as MASwings launched Malaysia’s First Prepaid Flight Card - Scratch n’ Go!

Scratch n’ Go! provides a simple and hassle free travel solution for travel within Sabah & Sarawak. To travel on Scratch n’ Go!, all a customer needs to do is to scratch off the silver layer on the card to reveal a pin number, make flight booking by calling Malaysia Airlines at 1-300-88-3000 and give the pin number. Now, you are ready to fly. There is no need for a flight ticket to be issued.

Dr. Amin Khan, Managing Director MASwings said, “The introduction of Scratch ‘n Go! represents an important milestone for MASwings. It is in line with our objective to provide a safe, reliable, easy and affordable travel to the people in Sarawak and Sabah. We aim to make travel simple and hassle free for our customer. The prepaid flight card is really easy to use. Just scratch for the pin number and you are ready to go. Hence, the name Scratch n’ Go!”

“Not only Scratch n’ Go! is easy to use. It is good value for money. There are no additional surcharges and the airfare is 20%-30% lower than the market fare. Going forward, we are looking at expanding the distribution channel of Scratch n’ Go!, making the Prepaid Flight Card available at book stores and convenient stores.” He added.

The Assistant Minister of Infrastructure Development and Communication Sarawak Yang Berhormat Dr Lee Kim Shin was present to launch Scratch n’ Go! , together with Managing Director of MASwings Dr.Amin Khan.

To celebrate the launching of Scratch n’ Go!, MASwings also announced Scratch Your Way to Bali contest. Customers who purchase Scratch n’ Go! will stand a chance to win a 4Days/3Nights Golden Holiday Package to Bali for two. The contest period ends 30 June 2008.

Scratch n’ Go! comes in 3 tiers – Zone 1 (RM180), Zone 2 (RM120) and Zone 3 (RM90). Each zone allows card holder to travel to routes specified in each zone. The Prepaid Flight Card is available at MASwings and Malaysia Airlines ticket offices, and appointed travel agents in Sabah and Sarawak. MASwings commenced its operations on October 1 2007, offers 660 weekly flights, which serves a network of 22 destinations in Sarawak and Sabah as well as the Federal Territory of Labuan. It currently has a fleet of 7 Fokker 50 and 5 Twin Otter aircraft.
