MASwings Celebrates Gawai with Passengers

Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai … In celebration of Sarawak’s Harvest Festival, MASwings employees gathered at the Miri Airport this morning (31 May) to give out goodies packs to passengers.

Many passengers were pleasantly surprised with the goodies packs comprising local delicacy, kuih tebaloi. Foreign passengers were especially intrigued by this traditional kuih, one of Sarawak’s favourite snacks.

The gifts were given out as MASwings celebrates its 1st Hari Gawai with the people of Sarawak since the airline launched in October last year. Throughout the Gawai festivities in the month of June, many people travel back to their villages to give thanks and celebrate a good harvest with their families and friends.

MASwings commenced its operations on October 1 2007, offers 660 weekly flights, which serves a network of 22 destinations in Sarawak and Sabah as well as the Federal Territory of Labuan. It currently has a fleet of 7 Fokker 50 and 5 Twin Otter aircraft.
