MASWings announces Management Team
Subang (17 August 2007): MASWings, Malaysia Airlines' wholly-owned subsidiary today announced its management team, headed by Managing Director, Dr Amin Khan.
I am delighted to announce MASWings' management team which brings with them years of experience in running an airline. Their expertise especially in the field of operations will be invaluable in ensuring the smooth running of our services.
We will commence our services in Sabah and Sarawak on 1 October 2007 from our main base in Miri, Sarawak, said Amin who is also Malaysia Airlines' Senior General Manager, Transition Management.
MASWings is structured into two divisions; Operations and Support Services.The Operations division covers 3 core areas: Ground Operations, Flight Operations and Engineering.
Leading the Operations division will be General Manager, Encik Wan Abdul Rahim Wan Ishak who brings with him over 30 years of experience from his previous position in Malaysia Airlines' Engineering & Maintenance Division as Assistant General Manager, Maintenance Operations.Reporting to him will be Mr Noni Boni Sideu who will take on the role of Head, Ground Operations. He is currently Malaysia Airlines' Station Manager in Bangkok, Thailand and has 27 years of experience in airport operations.
Captain Mohd Osman will take on the role of Head, Flight Operations. A pilot for 34 years, he has served as MAS' Fokker-50 Fleet Manager with Malaysia Airlines since 1990. He will doublehat as Fleet Manager, Fokker-50/Training.Driving the Engineering arm of MASWings will be Encik Nasip Roslan who will hold the position of Head, Engineering. Nasip is a Licensed Aircraft Engineer based in Kota Kinabalu and has been with Malaysia Airlines since 1975.
The Support Services division aims at ensuring the smooth administration of the airline, and comprises 3 core areas namely: Human Resources, Finance and Business Development. Madam Serena Ho will take on the role of the Chief Financial Officer and will also double-hat as Assistant General Manager, Transition Management (e-commerce). Ho is a Chartered Accountant and has been with Malaysia Airlines since 2002.
Leading MASWings' Business Development will be Cik Norzalela Md Din who is also the Manager, Domestic Operations in the Transition Management Department, Malaysia Airlines. Norzalela has been with Malaysia Airlines since 1996.The position of Head, Human Resources will be held by Cik Nor Aida Othman who is also the Administration & Finance Manager in the Transition Management Department. Aida joined Malaysia Airlines in 2002.
